Paleogene turtles of Eastern Europe: new findings and a revision

The article provides an overview of all known 39 localities the Paleogene turtles Eastern Europe. Numerous remains are described for first time from 19 localities, which six new, and 13 materials were only mentioned previously. Among them Pan-Trionychidae indet., Pan-Cheloniidae Dermochelyidae indet. Pan-Testudines as well pan-cheloniids Argillochelys sp. Ypresian Novoivanovka or Lutetian Gruzinov localities. Several indeterminate specimens Eocene show similarity to cuneiceps (Owen, 1849) Puppigerus camperi (Gray, 1831) Tasbacka aldabergeni Nessov, 1987, dermochelyids Natemys peruvianus Wood et al., 1996 “Psephophorus” rupeliensis van Beneden, 1883. One specimen costal 1 Krasnorechenskoe locality resembles that pleurodires Eocenochelus spp. Neochelys In addition, new five previously them, additionally restored Bartonian Ak-Kaya pan-cheloniid sp., dermochelyid Cosmochelys expand data on their morphology intraspecific variability. with deep dense sculpturing external shell surface Bakhmutovka, Bulgakovka, Tripolye clearly belong a species, not due fragmentary material. It is supposed Anhuichelys-like pan-testudinoids migrated Asia in Europe Danian age, preserved relict Dithyrosternon valdense Pictet Humbert, 1855 until Priabonian age.
